Failure

So I went to Red Brook in MA today because I've heard and read a lot about there being a great population of sea run brook trout. Well I couldn't find any..... I started at Red Brook Road at Lyman Preserve, but no fish; we didn't even see any. Can anyone tell me why that is because I am slightly disappointed. :( The stream itself  is very pretty and they did a great job restoring it; it looks like a very healthy spring creek but i didn't even see a fish, let alone catch one.

Here are a few pictures of places I've managed to drag my dad while my mom had a quiet time at home.

This is at the Swift River, MA. The elderly man standing next to me helped me get set up and helped me catch a 16in rainbow trout. The Swift is a beautiful river and is by far my favorite. The fish are very finicky, but they are gorgeous and fun.

  This was another trip to the Swift on the coldest day of the year. I got at least 30 hits and had four on, but only managed to get one 16incher in the last 5 minutes of being there.

I took a side trip to the South Branch of the Raritan River, NJ. I was in NJ for the International Fly Tying Symposium. I went there in search of trout, and had one rainbow on, but instead i met a fellow fly fisherman who was a guide to me and helped me catch an 18in suckerfish. Hey, he put up a good fight, especially on a 3wt!

This past summer i tried tube and worming for the first time with some great results. Kayak+Tube and Worm=Big Striped Bass
I couldn't actually hold them up because of how I was positioned in the kayak, so I just pulled them onto my leg. One could say my leg was pretty disgusting by the end of the day.

The first bass was 32in 

Followed by a 27in

Then a 29in

And ended the day with a 30in

That was a good day!

Some of My Work

I said yesterday that I would get some pictures and so I have. I only have pictures of trout flies right now, but here they are! Tell me what you think.(Keep in mind that I have another 3,000 or so)

This is a stream that i thought might have some wild brookies, but I guess not, it might be almost too small. However, that pool was a good two feet deep and had quite a few nymphs, oh well.

First Post

So I've been fly fishing for about three years now. I like it. Fly fishing really filled the free time, of which I had plenty, and it's very fun. It certainly keeps a kid out of trouble and since I have started I have gotten two other kids into this great sport. I originally started fly tying and didn't learn to  fish until about a month after.
Through humble beginnings, starting with jig hooks and craft feathers, i have become a rather accomplished tier, and modest too ;). I now sell my saltwater flies at a local shop and my freshwater flies (all the way down to 32) are piling up by the hundreds so i need a place to put or sell those.
As of now, i have no pictures or my work, but I'll get some picture sometime in the near future. So that's pretty much it....
